In a former life, I taught Greek and Roman history at the University of Queensland, which mostly consisted of doing my best minotaur impression for students on request.

Nowadays I’m a Brisbane-based author of historical fantasy. Previously I’ve published acclaimed novels The Way Home, The Ivory Gate and The Seven Hills with publisher Odyssey Books, as well as the Viking inspired serial Tooth and Blade, whose audiobook I produced and directed. All these projects are available to option for the screen.

In 2019 I was a panellist at Oz Comic Con and co-hosted podcast The Bestseller Experiment with UK screenwriter Mark Stay (Robot Overlords, Unwelcome).
